  Look for another product that provides customer support. This isn't a free product so after paying, customer support should be provided.

  Trying to transfer from one computer to another is a chore. I msut've purchased this program 3 times at least over the last 7 years and they make you buy a new program rather than let you keep your old credentials if you should happen to have a crash and the program is updated since the time you bought it.

  Summary

  I don't do anything fancy just batch convert a few audio files and I don't need to be on a forced upgrade march from these folks. Terrible customer service. Find another product.

  When multiple videos are joined the end result is quite grainy. My biggest complaint is that I've (foolishly) purchased this twice because it is almost impossible to transfer to a new computer. I am at this moment searching freeware sights in an attempt to find freeware or shareware that will do the basic video editing that I need.

  Summary

  I don't think it's a terrible bit of software it's the company that sucks in my opinion. Also it is not a $50 value. I feel that $25 is more realistic.

  None. I would enter zero stars, but 0.5 stars is the lowest it goes.

  Program crashes, freezes. Customer support unresponsive, condescending, rude, patronizing, unhelpful at best. If you have a computer crash, and program is more than a year old, they make you purchase the new program. Your activation key will not work on new program. I felt I was safe with confirmation email and activation code which I saved. Wrong. They just ask for more money and then say ..."Have a nice day!"

  Summary

  After computer crashed, I lost the program. Purchased a year ago. Felt I was safe since I kept my activation code, reference number, original confirmation e-mail, etc. Contacted support via e-mail and fax. Reloaded program, activation program didn't work. Contacted support again. They said that the activation code only works with new program. I said old program works fine< i don't need the new program. They said I would have to purchase the new program. I already paid $50 for the older program, and now they want more money! Customer support totally unhelpful and condescending. Even while stating they can't help me and would need to purchase the product AGAIN, they always ended their emial with "Have a nice day"!

  Too expensive for software that should be freeware. The layout is not one that makes sense from a programmer's standpoint or for neophytes. Even during installation there were problems. How do firms stay in business with bad products.

  It allows you to edit video (if the format is supported) the old-fashioned way. By selecting a section and then deleting it. It doesn't use the 'clip' approach, and that's very nice. Low learning curve.

  Cons

  Each time you change your hard drive or get a new computer, you have to pay for a new license. I've paid for mine three times. Over time, it's a VERY expensive software. It has limited functions, too. You can't reverse a video clip, for example.

  Summary

  This is a good video editor, but it's only good for cutting. It can't 'paste', it fails to extract audio (although it claims to be able to), it does not support many video formats. It has audio tools, too, but these are so common that there is no point in buying this thing because of that. The worst feature is that you have to pay again and again, unless you choose never to upgrade your computer. There is no telephone support whatsoever. The phone number they have listed with paypal has said that there is 'temporarily' no phone support, but 'temporary' has lasted about three years. I've paid over 100 dollars for this 50 dollar software, and that's the most rapacious policy I've ever seen in any software. If you are a beginner in video editing, do yourself a favor, and don't start out with this mediocre software, so you don't get in the habit of editing their way. There is severe loss of resolution when you save files, and a shortage of video profiles, too. If you have a big video (bigger than 800x600), it will shrink your file to one of it's preferred sizes. There are no updates (except ones that protect the publisher), and no additional codecs or video profiles, so you're stuck with the ones they offer. All in all, this is a very self-important software, which describes itself as a professionsal tool, but creates blurry videos, and pretends that it's worht paying for again and again. "Blaze Media Pro: The software that goes on taking". I read on one of their forums that their justification for their policy, which is that you should read the license carefully, and it's not their fault if you don't know about buying again and again. They said that if you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm advising you not to buy it, 'cause I don't like having paid for it three times. If you have one or two videos to edit, and you can do it in under 15 days, get it, and then get rid of it before you have to pay.

• Purchased for Audio - It Didn't Work

  It didn't record streaming audio from Windows Media Player. Because I'd successfully used Blaze Media Pro versions 6.x and 7.x on three different Windows XP Pro boxes, I thought it would work on XP Pro Media Center Edition 2002. Nope.

  Summary

  I'm hoping that the rest of the sound and video editing works O.K. If it does, I'll update my review.

  edited MP3 music files easily. recorded from tape easily. many functionalities available. more importantly, easy to use. great software.

  only complaint is not ultra precise. just a lamens software (for every day people). probably not intended for professionals.
